Dr. Shikha Rao completed her Dermatology residency from Emory University in June 2022 and joins Schweiger Dermatology Group as a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellow with Dr. David Goldberg.Dr. Shikha Rao completed her Dermatology residency at Emory University in June 2022 and joins Schweiger Dermatology Group as a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellow with Dr. David Goldberg. Upon completing her Doctorate in Medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College, top ranking medical institute in Delhi, India, she moved to the United States to pursue further studies. She worked as a research fellow in Dermatology at Emory university school of medicine, where she did extensive research in melanoma tumorigenesis and pathogenesis. Following this, she completed her internship at Henry Ford Allegiance hospital in Michigan and dermatology residency at the Emory university school of medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, where she served as a chief resident in final year. During her stay at Emory University, Dr. Rao has presented at multiple medical conferences and authored nine scientific publications in premier dermatology journals. She ranked third amongst sixteen teams in the knowledge-based resident competition at the 2022 American Academy of Dermatology(AAD) conference in Boston.
Dr. Rao cherishes the opportunity to practice dermatology with special interests in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancers and cosmetic dermatology and looks forward to providing high-quality, ethical care to patients at Schiweger dermatology. Dr. Rao is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic society.
She loves spending time with her husband and twin children, traveling, and exploring new places.
